1. The Moniker Game
The Moniker game is one game that can easily take the spirits of the party from zero to a hundred in no time. In the Moniker Game, you have a pack of cards with objects or people on each of them. Then each team gets a representative who takes a card but does not show it to his team members. The team rep then gives different hints that would help their team guess the name on the card. But, of course, in whatever hint they give, they are forbidden to say the exact name on the card.
2. The Hot Seat
For groups that want to get to know each other better, the Hot Seat is one interesting way to do so. Party members take turns sitting on the Hot Seat for a limited period. During that time, the other group members throw questions at them, which they must answer.
This game lets you learn so much about one another, and sometimes, you learn of secrets you might never have encountered!
3. The Name Game
The Name Game tests everyone’s ability to think fast and be creative. It is slightly intellectual but highly fun. A starter picks a noun, say, boys’ names, names of churches, clothing brands, or even countries, and each person answers. This happens until one person fails to think of a noun within five seconds. They are then eliminated, and the next person starts afresh by picking another noun for others to find answers.
In the end, the last man standing is declared the winner of the Name Game.
4. Mimicry
In this game, a celebrity's name is passed to a member of one team, and then they are required to mimic the said individual or celebrity effectively. In contrast, the other team members try to guess who the person is successful. A stopwatch could be set to time the guessing process. The other team can decide to try out the bonus point once the original team has exhausted their allocated time.
This is an avenue to laugh your heart out at the funniest and weirdest mimicry attempts by different members of the respective teams.
5. A game of Scrabble
Board games are always a great way to gather the party around for some game time, and the game of scrabble is the perfect combination of fun and intellect. You also get to learn so many new words from a regular game of scrabble.
6. The Flour Game
Ready to get a little messy during game nights? Here is the perfect way to achieve this! The Flour Game involves getting some flour on a tray and shaping it up to form a mound. Then a tiny object known as the “lifesaver” is placed at the very top of the mound. Next, each party member is passed a knife with which they are to cut any portion of the flour off. The member responsible for causing the lifesaver to fall now has to use their mouth to pick up the lifesaver. At the end of the day, you get white faces, wide smiles and cheery laughter ringing across the game room.
7. The 20 Questions Game
The 20 questions game is similar to the Moniker Game, but yet very different. In this game, a chosen team rep holds up a card (visible to members of his team) but high above his head and not visible to themselves.
The cardholder then proceeds to ask as many questions as possible to decipher who is on the card. For example, he could ask of the sex of the person on the card, the occupation and other things, and then finally, he gets to guess the identity. If he gets it right, he gets certain points for the team. If he does not, the team loses that round and the next round goes to the other team. Of course, the guessing period would be timed to heighten the competition and tension.
8. Karaoke
Karaokes are not for superstars or for celebrity singers and songwriters. Instead, they are for members of the group to unleash their otherwise hidden signing talents and let their hearts out through songs that they most likely connect with.
It is a great way to bond and also to discover some future Rihanna or Usher!
9. Scavenger Hunt
The Scavenger Hunt is best played with adults and kids. Someone hides some household utensils around the house, and the others try to find them at different locations. This is best played when there is ample space in the accommodation or lodge. This is where service apartments and shortlet rentals would come in very handy!
